In the last year we:
Responded to 520,463 accident and emergency incidents
Carried out 2,214,101 non-emergency patient journeys
Flew 2938 Air Ambulance missions
The Service employs 3192 staff, of which 155 are in management and administration and 12 are board members.
The top ten patient conditions reported in 999 calls are:
- Person sick or unwell
- Fall or accident
- Cardiac arrest or chest pain
- Breathing difficulties
- Overdose/poisoning
- Assault/ trauma
- Fits/ convulsions
- Road Traffic accident
- Bleeding
- Unconscious
We deliver our services to all of Scotland – a geographical area of 30,414 square miles and a population of just over 5 million.
