The Scottish Ambulance Service has been working towards a formal environmental management system since 2005. Our Head of Procurement, Jenny Neville, has led the environmental procurement policy and is already making progress towards buying more sustainable products. The Service has achieved ISO14001 accreditation for its National Headquarters. The Procurement team is currently developing a local delivery plan in response to the publication of the Scottish Government’s Scottish Sustainable Procurement Action Plan, which is due for completion by March 2010.
Chief Executive Pauline Howie said,” Sustainable Procurement is a really positive way to deliver value for money, while supporting the Third Sector, local businesses and helping the Service meet the objectives of its environmental policy.”
